Study, Filing Cabinet and Porch Table

The Study/Home Office has been painted with Glass Slipper and the Catwalk from Provenza's Uptown Chic series has been installed.

The first step in redoing the filing cabinet was to take all the old hardware off and to fill in the holes. I used metal epoxy. I did not enjoy working with it, but all in all it was easier than I thought it would be.

I left one hole unfilled for the new hardware.

When they laid the flooring they brought the newly polished Table Top back. I just love my Volga Blue Granite.

Volga Blue

The bedrock of this stone is actually a very light grey – despite its overall black appearance. What gives it its black color is the vast amounts of black mineral deposits that make up over 80% of this stones mass. These black mineral deposits can range in color from a very dark grey, through to pure black. They are usually dense and well defined – which gives an effect that almost looks like shattered glass.
However despite the black minerals making up the bulk of this stone, it is the stunning blue mineral deposits that give this stone its name. And boy are they stunning!
They can range in shade from a deep and dark navy blue, through to a super bright almost sky blue color. Depending upon the density of the minerals in these sections they can actually be pearlescent. This means that they will look slightly metallic in color, and will display a range of shades of blue

Boundless: A Drizzt Novel (The Legend of Drizzt #32)

Boundless: A Drizzt NovelBoundless: A Drizzt Novel by R.A. Salvatore
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Brilliant!!!

It picks up where Timeless left off. Regis and the Grinning Ponies are desperate to warn Bleeding Vines and Waterdeep of the Demon invasion. Regis sends the Grinning Ponies to Bleeding Vines but only Doregardo made it through. His warning allowed the majority of the population to escape to Gauntlegrym including Regis' wife, Donnola Topolino.

Zaknafeine and Jarlaxle's exploits in Menzoberranzan are recalled. Including Zaknafeine's dalliance with Dab'nay Tr'arach. Dab'nay really cared about Zaknafeine but fear and ambition lead her to betray him. She appears to be back with Jarlaxle's band as she is healing Wulfgar at Kimmuriel 's request. Kimmuriel plans to use Wulfgar to kill Brevindon Margaster and the demon that controls him. (Bonnie Charlee is a woman pirate who saved Wulfgar from drowning and is under his protection, we will undoubtedly see her again in the next book).

Regis headed to Waterdeep where he meet up with Dahlia Syndalay (Dahlia Sin'felle) and Artemis Entreri, when they were attacked Artemis' quick thinking allowed Dahlia and Regis to escape but left him trapped. He is now encased in a wasp nest where he is being stung. Even though Regis and Dahlia managed to partly rescue him, he is still encased in the cocoon and they have been unable to get him out, and the wasp are stinging Dahlia who also has a broken arm. The demon who has taken control of a young girl, and who controls the wasp is in pursuit and has almost caught up with them.

Yvonnel has been busy she is continuously healing Athrogate, she helped Regis escape the Demons and get to Waterdeep, with Athrogate's help she rescued some humans and she and Athrogate briefly saw Drizzt. Drizzt and Zaknefein are being pursued by Retrievers ( Spider golems who lock in on a single target and are nearly unstoppable until they achieve their goal as Pikel says Bad Spidey!!!), Yvonnel is able to tell Drizzt what he is up against and that she is powerless against the Retriever that is after him. Drizzt bravely leads the Retriever away from his friends and to Stoneshaft where he allows it to corner him.

" The ray came...
And then he (Drizzt) was gone, breaking apart into floating shards of light, like a thousand tiny flower petals floating down on a gentle breeze. His breeches flapped and shuddered, then also vanished into nothingness, disintegrated by the retriever's final and most powerful ray of all."

After which the Retriever dissolved from this plane after completing it's mission of killing Drizzt. I have some hope that Drizzt used a trick used by Grandmaster Kane and is still alive.

King Bruenor came up with a way to defeat the Retriever pursuing Zaknafeine. They lead it to the cavern where the Primordial (Fire) is contained and with Thibbledorf Pwent's (vampire dwarf) assistance the dwarves, Zaknafeine and Jarlaxle knock the Retriever into chasm where the Primordial destroys it.

Unfortunately now they have learned of Gromph's treachery. He and the other wizards have declared the Hosttower of the Arcane neutral and have closed the gates and failed to deliver the magic needed to keep the Primordial caged. And to top it off Menzoberranzan is marching on Gauntlegrym. When questioned Jarlaxle hedges but Zaknafein answers truthfully and suggest that he and Jarlaxle should go hunt some priestesses.

The Testaments (The Handmaid's Tale, #2)

The Testaments (The Handmaid's Tale, #2)The Testaments by Margaret Atwood
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Marvelous!!!

The story is told from the POV of three women.

Aunt Lydia was a judge in the world before Gilead. She lived through the brutal reprogramming of women to become one of the most powerful Aunts. But she never forgot what was done to her or her promise to herself to get even one day. Puppet master extraordinaire she will pull the stings that will bring Gilead crashing down.

Baby Nicole/Daisy/Jade the daughter Offred smuggled out of Gilead to Canada, she grew up believing that her parents were the couple that ran an used clothing store until the day they were killed by a car bomb. Learning her true identity she returned to Gilead to meet the sister she didn't know she had and to smuggle important documents out of Gilead that would bring it crashing down.

Agnes/Aunt Victoria she would grow up the pampered daughter of Commander Kyle and Tabitha but when Tabitha dies of a mysterious illness and her "Father" weds Paula her status quickly changes. To escape Paula's scheme to marry her to Commander Judd ( a man old enough to be her Grandfather and whose wives all mysteriously die after a short time) she follows her friend Becka/Aunt Immortelle's lead and ask to become an Aunt. Granted asylum with the Aunts, she quickly learns long buried secrets. Thanks to Becca's sacrifice Agnes and Jade will be able to escape to Canada with the documents Aunt Lydia assembled over years and bring Gilead down.

Book Club Questions
1. Clothes play a dual role in the novel. They signal life stages as well as status and class: the pink, white and plum dresses worn by “special girls”; the drab prison-like stripes of the Econofamilies; and the green dresses of the betrothed girls. Did this aspect of the novel strike you as odd?
 Not really
Or is it actually not very different from our own obsession with brands and logos that convey a certain level of wealth and status?
It reminded me more of the Middle Ages when only royalty was allowed to wear certain colors and clothing often denoted your status in the community.Today you can choose to wear a brand or logo or not, then society dictated what you wore.

2. Aunt Lydia tells us that Gilead actually has “an embarrassingly high emigration rate.” Can those who manage to leave Gilead ever truly “escape”?
I think it would be hard to escape the brainwashing

3. Daisy/Jade is, to say the least, a reluctant revolutionary. But if you were her age and were asked to absorb all of the shocking information she has to process in a very short period of time, would you have reacted any differently?
Probably not, she had a comfortable life and then all of a sudden she doesn't and she is being asked to risk her life for people she doesn't know and for a cause that has to seem remote to her.

4. After Agnes is assaulted, she recalls other girls who reported such incidents having been told that “nice girls did not notice the minor antics of men, they simply looked the other way,” which is a troubling parallel between Gilead and reality. Do you think there will ever come a time when women will feel unashamed to peak out when they are sexually assaulted? Or has this time already arrived in the age of #MeToo?
I think women feel more empowered to speak out today, but it's still sort of a he said she said type deal. And the woman/girl isn't always telling the truth so sometimes it's hard to know who to believe.

5. When Aunt Lydia dons the garb of the female stadium shooters, she says, “I felt a chill. I put it on. What else should I have done?” What would you have done?
It's hard to say, it was really the only way she had to survive. And she never really gave up, just played the game until she could destroy Gilead from within. I don't know what I would have done I think nobody could know until they were in the same situation.

6. Agnes’ interpretation of “Dick and Jane” showcases Margaret Atwood’s trademark wit, but there is more to it than that. Discuss the ways in which the author cleverly builds the sense of suspicion and fear that informs the way Agnes processes the events in her life at Ardua Hall.

7. Several references are made to shortages of basic necessities such as food and electricity. Birth defects and juvenile cancer also seem to plague Gilead. What do you think has caused this? Possibly environmental issues? Or the ongoing war?
I think it's a combination of environmental issues and the fact that Gilead is cut off to some extent from the rest of the world.

8. Agnes considers her admittance to Hildegard Library to be a “golden key” that will reveal “the riches that lay within.” But it is here that she learns the truth about the Concubine Cut into Twelve Pieces, as well as the truth about her half-sister. Is there any book that provided you with a similar pivotal and eye-opening experience?

9. When Aunt Lydia relays the Aesop’s Fables story of Fox and Cat, she reveals much about her survival skills. Which are you --- Fox or Cat?

10. The conclusion of THE HANDMAID’S TALE left readers with many tantalizing questions. Which of your questions were answered by THE TESTAMENTS? Which were not?

Entry Way Additions and Starting on the Study (May 2019)

I wanted to make the entryway more inviting so in addition to the shelf I added a tall vase and some flowers. With just the white flowers it was sort of blah.

So I added these teal and lilac blossoms to it.

The teal matches the rug and the lilac works well with the tiles in the shelf and the Glass Slippers (violet neutral) paint used the in Study.

I love the muted silver of the vase, it gives it a hint of sparkle but doesn't show fingerprints.

The teal flowers have a hint of lilac on them.

I used the left over white flowers in the Family Room they looks wonderful against the teal wall.

I am going to redo one of the file cabinets. I needed to pick out the paper for the shelves. Here were my original choices. I decided to ditch the middle 3.

But I fiddled around with a few combinations before I found the paper I wound up using.

On the other hand I found the hardware right away. I wanted to make sure it fit so I tried it out on the drawer. I also have the paint all ready to get started. I choose a paint and primer in one. The color is Surf.
This is a close up of the knob I will be using.

Tidelands (Fairmile #1)

Tidelands (Fairmile #1)Tidelands by Philippa Gregory
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A bit slow in the beginning, and I still can't believe that Alinor realizing not just the shame she would bring to her family but the mortal danger she would put them in didn't take the herbs necessary to either prevent her pregnancy or end it.

When Alinor meets a papist spy in the church yard she hides him for the night and then leads him to the Priory. At the Priory he assumes the name James Summer and becomes the tutor to Sir William's son Walter. As a reward for Alinor's help Rob (Alinor's son) is brought to the Priory as a paid companion to Walter and with the promise of an apprenticeship to an apothecary when Walter leaves for college. Things are looking up for the young abandoned wife at last. Her daughter Alys has caught the eye of Richard Stoney (the heir to a profitable farm) and is determined to get the money demanded for the dowry no matter what she has to do. Alys "borrows" the money from Mrs. Miller to show to Richard's family and with the promised dowry the Stoney's agree to the wedding and Alys puts the money back with no one the wiser and she and her family set to work to get the demanded dowry.

But it all comes unraveled when Alinor becomes James' lover. His mission to save the King fails when the King refuses to come away with him. Rob sees the Father he believes lost at sea and is dismayed when his Father reveals he is never coming home. Once he learns that his Mother can have his Father declared dead after 7 years he keeps secret the fact he saw his Father alive and well. Disillusioned by the ungrateful King James vows that he will leave the priesthood and return to marry Alinor. So when Alinor discovers she is pregnant with James' child she waits for him to return. Even though the pregnancy threatens her daughter's engagement and her son's apprenticeship.

Ned (Alinor's brother) is overjoyed when Parliament is taken over by the army (Oliver Cromwell) and the King is tried and executed. James and Ned both return from London the same day and Alinor is relived that James is finally back and can claim her and the baby. But James refuses to do so, he still wants to marry her but he insist that she end the pregnancy first, she refuses. Alys "borrows" the money from Mrs Miller again but no sooner than she is wed and on her way to her wedding feast than Mrs Miller accuses Alinor of witchcraft and thievery, when she discovers the missing money. Alys tries to speak up and confess the crime is hers but Richard prevents her. With James and Sir William preceding over the hastily assembled court Alinor is swam for a witch she survives. Richard accuses Alys of trying to pass her Mother's baby off as hers, but Alys assures him she truly is pregnant with his child, rather he believed her or she forgave him for doubting her is questionable as Alys left him. But Alys determines to leave for London with her Mother and demands that James give her the money so they can start a carting business in London.

I hope Rob doesn't lose his apprenticeship over his Mother's disgrace the book didn't say what would happen to him or what his plans were.

Book Club Questions

1. From the opening page, the reader is immediately pulled into the unique setting of the book. Alinor lives in an ever-changing physical landscape known to outsiders as Foulmire. How much does this in-between geography shape the people who live there? How much is it a reflection of the personalities that can manage the ever-changing conditions of the tidelands? Why do you think the author used this setting for a book that takes place during England’s Civil War?
People's allegiances were constantly shifting just like the tidelands.  And people were often hiding secrets even their identities just like the hidden paths through Foulmire.

2. At their first parting, James tells Alinor, “‘I did not know that there could be a woman like you, in a place like this.’” That sentence is repeated throughout the book but with changing meanings. Alinor even rephrases it at the moment she is considering suicide. Ultimately, what kind of woman does James see Alinor as? How does she come to see herself?
In the beginning James sees Alinor as too good for the place and station she was born into, eventually he sees her as not worthy of someone of his wealth and position. Alinor comes to see herself as someone special and worthy of the place she can win.

3. The story is told in the third person, but alternates between Alinor’s perspective and James’. When King Charles refuses to be rescued, the reader feels how deeply James is shaken, losing his faith and his sense of purpose in life. But with the third-person perspective, can the reader see anything James has gained? What else can we see that he has lost by the end of the novel?
James has lost his honor first he broke his vows as a priest, then he failed to rescue the King and at the end he broke his vow to Alinor. By the end of the novel he has lost any chance of a life with her.
Finally Alinor looked up at him and he saw that her eyes were darkened with unshed tears I wouldn't stoop to marry a man who'd kill his own child she said simply it's not an honor that you offer me if you're the man who'd destroyed his own baby in the womb then you're not the man that I thought you were and you're not the man for me.

4. Ned is a foil for James, in both his political convictions and social status. But neither man is able to help Alinor in her hour of greatest need. Can you defend either of their actions during Alinor’s trial for witchcraft? Do you think either of them loves Alinor as much as they claim?
I think Ned does, He took Rob away as she asked and he allowed her to come back to his home. Ned was very limited in what he could do. He didn't know Alys stole the money and he didn't know who the Father of Alinor's baby was, I believe he would have told if he had known.

5. When we first meet Alys, she appears to be a good child and an obedient daughter. How does she change throughout the novel? When she argues for Alinor to try to abort her baby, do you think Alys makes a fair case?
Alys made a fair case in that she was stating what would happen if Alinor's pregnancy was discovered. And Alys had her own child and future to worry about.

6. Alys steals money for her dowry and lets her mother pay for the crime. How do you think Alys justifies this to herself? As a reader, do you find this forgivable? Do you think contemporary readers can fairly judge a woman of the 17th century?
It's hard to judge fairly because the punishment then was so out of proportion to the crime. The thief would have been hanged. Also without the money Alys wouldn't have been allowed to marry the Father of her child and she would have been ruined. Alys was desperate and in the end Alys did try to tell them she did it.

7. Mrs. Miller is never portrayed as a kind or generous woman. But when she finds Jane’s dowry purse filled with old and valueless coins, is her reaction fair? Given all the events leading to Alinor’s witch trial, is Mrs. Miller more to blame than anyone else?
I don't know that Mrs Miller was to blame, she was indeed the victim of a theft, she was jealous of Alinor and the attention her husband paid her so I do think she viewed it as a chance to get even.

8. In 17th-century England, infant mortality was estimated at about 18 percent, and childbirth was often fatal for the mother. But Alinor enjoys her job as a midwife. How do we see childbirth through her eyes? How do we see the women of the tidelands as she interacts with them?
Many of the women were superstitious and believed Alinor to be a witch. Some of the women were generous and kind to her others were vicious in denouncing her and her children behind their backs.

9. Through Rob’s placement as a companion for Master Walter, we get to see the inner workings of the wealthiest house on the island. How do Mr. Tudeley and Mrs. Wheatley compare to Mr. and Mrs. Miller? Mr Tudeley and Mrs Wheatley were much nicer than the Millers and appear better educated. Although I think Mr. Miller would have been nice if his wife had allowed him to be.

Mr. and Mrs. Stoney? Mr Stoney appear nice enough but all his wife cared about was the dowry. In fact if anyone was to blame for the theft it was Mrs Stoney as she wouldn't allow Alys and Richard to marry without the money.

In a world of such rigid class distinctions, do you think Cromwell can really bring about the changes men like Ned want? NO

10. Characters like Sir William show how the upper class of England had to handle the rise of Cromwell and his New Model Army. Men like Ned believe this adherence to the Protestant faith and new political beliefs will benefit everyone. But as we see more common citizens of the area, is there anything to be said for the old faith? Is the “old faith” Catholicism or something even older?
The Catholic priest visited the old and infirm no matter their ability to pay. And I do think there were even older beliefs on the island. Also the old ways were more joyous. The Protestants seemed to determined to sap all joy from life.

11. The oldest superstitions on the island help lead to Alinor’s trial. The causes of these trials are hard for modern readers to imagine. But given that they were described as an “epidemic” in mid-16th- through mid-17th-century Europe, does this novel help 21st-century readers understand why?
Not really and it's very similar to what happened in America (Salem Witch Trials) superstition and jealousy could lead to anyone being accused of witch craft especially a beautiful woman who knew about herbs and healing.

12. The novel ends with King Charles executed and parliament in power. But the political tides are still turning in England. How do you imagine women like Alinor and Alys will fare in this world where so much is changing? I think their fortune will be ever shifting like the tides.

Headed Home Sunday September 1, 2019

I took this picture shortly before we ran into the outer edges of the Hurricane, after that it pretty much rained all day. I did manage to get my swim in. Unfortunately neither Bo nor I remembered to put the card out for coffee so no room service coffee for us. We were both so tired after Cozumel that we went to bed without thinking about it and if you forget about it the night before it's ... Oh Ship!!!  After we got back from Cozumel Saturday we had to go look at the pictures they took Friday Night and then I had a massage scheduled so it was a full day. I would have much rather gotten my massage and looked at the pictures on Sea Day Sunday which was deadly boring but they wouldn't allow this. You pretty much have to do stuff when they tell you to do it. Also since we had to look at the pictures at 6:45 Saturday, we couldn't eat in the Jubilee Dining room because our meal time was 6PM and it took a good hour or more for you to finish eating. Service is slow but also you get an appetizer, an entree and desert at a leisurely pace. Our dining companions were interesting (they seat you with the same group of people at the same table)  So it was sandwiches from the deli again. I didn't care for the Lido Buffet it's cafeteria food that frankly you could get better at any of the Biloxi Casinos. So when we didn't eat at Jubilee my choices were a sandwich from the Deli, a cheese pizza with or without herbs (pizza variety was sadly lacking) or I could have gotten a hamburger (Bo did the first day for lunch) but the hamburgers didn't really appeal to me.Sadly we only managed to eat in the Jubilee Dining Room Twice Friday for Elegant Evening and Sunday.

Free beverages are also unappealing your choices are very bad tea, lemonade (I actually liked the lemonade but I didn't want to drink it all the time) and so so coffee (it wasn't bad, just not great) Bottled Water is $3.75 for a large bottle you also have the option to buy a case of bottled water which is a better deal but I don't really like drinking water. They have a soft drink package you can purchase but I don't drink soft drinks and they also have a Drinks package you can purchase but unless you drink a LOT of alcohol it's not worth it. And ALL the adults in the room have to purchase the same package.

The Seaday Brunch which we did Friday was OK I got Eggs Benedict with Smoked Salmon but it took forever  for the waitress to take our order. And the Eggs Benedict was barely warm when I got it. The Cheesy grits I got as a side were good though. We would have probably done it again Sunday but since we didn't remember to put the Coffee order out we wound up eating at Lido where I got a good omelet. I just had to stand in line for it. Lido opens earlier, than the Seaday Brunch does. You can pretty much eat at Lido whenever you want, the Dining Rooms have specific times.

The massage was heavenly. I have no complaints there. You do need to be aware they add a 16% gratuity to the charge. Bibi was great so I didn't mind, but after the massage she did try to sell me a bunch of products. I would have much rather went directly back to my room and went to sleep which is what I did after the sales pitch was finished. And again this would have been a GREAT ACTIVITY for Seaday, but since I had a special offer I couldn't get it then.

Really can't complain about Friday's Seaday, I had a nice swim. Then we did the Seaday Brunch. After that I went to a shopping seminar (I won't be doing it again, the free bracelet you got for attending isn't worth it) but I had to leave it early to get to the Ladies Pamper Party. OK the Pamper Party wasn't what I expected they billed it as a free makeover all we really did was wash our faces off, apply moisturizer and eye cream. That was it. But we did get a special offer for a massage (which made attending worth it). I was expecting foundation, blush, lip stick, eye shadow, hair I mean MAKEOVER to me implies MAKEUP. So it was a bit of a disappointment but the massage offer made up for it.

Then I had gotten a certificate for a free photo sitting and a $100 voucher so I went to activate it. And discovered we either had to do it Friday (Elegant Evening) or Saturday during port day. And since I actually wanted to get off the ship and visit Cozumel that meant it had to be Friday. The problem was I didn't know where Bo was and had to find him. Before I had left for the Pamper Party he told me he was going forward on the ship so I didn't really think it would be a problem. I thought he would be sitting where he did Thursday but he wasn't there and there is a lot of forward on the ship. I went to the top deck where he did his walking Thursday but he wasn't there either. I wound up contacting guest services and they were able to tell me where he last purchased something. He was in Serenity (I had actually forgotten it was forward on the ship, we had to go down several decks and walk through a restaurant to get to it) so I walked there and found him. We stopped and got a drink (bar tenders are incredibly slow aboard the ship it takes forever to get drinks) than rushed back to the cabin to change for our pictures and then it was time to dine. After that we did the Comedy Club. The guy was funny and it was very enjoyable and then we went to bed since the next day was port day. So Saturday was pretty much packed full of activities and sort of rushed. Bo did install the chat feature for another $10 ($5 per person) after that BUT since he had his I-pad as well as his phone with him and put it on both devices he didn't always get his messages. Which was aggravating...Bo also got Internet but only one of us could use it at a time.

Sunday was completely different. We missed the only two activities that I was interested in Game of Thrones Trivia (I was swimming) and then Lord of the Rings (trivia) Bo was walking. After that there was nothing either of us was interested in. It was pouring down rain so the miniature golf was out and there was a waiting line for the ping-pong tables (they only had 2). I packed up except for the stuff I would need the next day and that evening and then was Bored out of my Skull. The choppy water made it impossible for me to read without feeling sick and there was nothing on TV. And frankly I didn't go on vacation to watch TV I can do that at home. So the day part of Sunday sucked except for the swim and I did get a longer swim than usual since it started raining and the drunks stayed away.

The evening was really nice.

It started out with dining in the Jubilee Dining Room.

We had Baked Alaska for desert.

After that we went to an 80s and 90s Musical Trivia which was a hoot, stopped by to pick up our pictures and by that time I was exhausted and ready for bed.  But there were a lot of things to do after we went to bed. It's a pity some of those activities couldn't have been scheduled for earlier in the day.

(Monday) And while to me getting on the boat was really easy getting off was something of a nightmare.

Overall I had a good time and would go again, a different cruise line would probably be more to my liking Carnival seems to cater to people that want to party all night and sleep all day.  ~Alasandra

Cozumel Mexico (My Favorite Day of the Vacation)

I was so excited about visiting Cozumel that I got up early another glorious sunrise and you can see the lights of Cozumel.

The Royal Caribbean ship berthed next to us was much bigger than our ship and later a larger Carnival ship that had been diverted due to Hurricane Dorian put in.

Our excursion wasn't until 10AM and we were able to disembark around 8:30 so we had time to look around the port area a little. This morning in addition to having coffee delivered I asked for muffins and croissants, so we had that for breakfast as well as the delicious cookies L left for us.

If we had had time I would have loved to have done the carriage ride you know me HORSES!!!

They had a small park here.

I enjoyed looking at the plants.

And the wildlife.

There was a small "beach" area where you could sit, we sat here for awhile waiting for our excursion.

The water is so BLUE, this picture doesn't do in justice.

We got another couple to take our picture after we took theirs. Although when you disembark you will be bombarded with people in costume wanting to pose with you the ship photographer takes your picture and later you can purchase it onboard the ship. They are really expensive though. And they never took one of me and Bo together with the person.

And I unfortunately don't have any pictures of our snorkeling adventure. Maybe Bo does. I had a lot of fun but due to the Hurricane the water was choppier than normal so it was a bit of a strenuous swim and the flippers were too wide for me so they kept trying to fall off. Between the flippers and the current I had to ride the paddle board to shore. Our tour guides Carlos, Charley and Giovanni were great. They kept up with us and Giovanni gave me the paddle board ride back to shore. You wore life jackets as well so you were very safe in the water.

We also got to do the Mayan Ruins at San Gervasio the Mayan's built it  for the Goddess “Ixchel”. (Moon Goddess). Our guide Raul was very interesting and entertaining.

I also found some wildlife.

I loved these plants.

This was a little area right before you entered the ruins with bathrooms and decorative statues.

It was a lot to do in one day.  After this we went to eat a late lunch and did a Tequila tasting. I actually discovered I like Tequila especially the aged and the craft Tequila my favorites were the Passion Fruit and the Chocolate Tequila.

We had to rush to get back on the ship. We did an Expedition booked through Carnival so they had to wait for us to get back. BUT there was a really long line getting back onboard. We pulled away not long after we got onboard.

Getting to visit Cozumel was my favorite part of the cruise. There are actually people who never get off the ship when it's in port. To me the ship is just a nicer way than flying or driving to get where I want to go. But in all honesty I would have preferred to have flown to Cozumel and gotten to spend 3 days exploring the island. It's beautiful there.
