When Reacher finds a West Point class ring in a pawn shop he sets out to find the owner. He soon discovers that her identical twin sister has hired a P.I. to find Sanderson, they team up and the threesome soon stumble across a lucrative prescription pill racket, with people willing to kill to keep their business running.
Once they find Sanderson they learn the corruption went all the way to the military where Sy (Sanderson's boyfriend) was killed to keep him from reporting the misappropriation of medicine.
Now Reacher is out to get payback for those wronged and the medicine Sanderson needs to survive. And as usual Reacher delivers as only Reacher can.
