An Elegant Evening

 This was so much fun.

And I think we cleaned up pretty good.

I got Carnival’s Melting Chocolate Cake with ice-cream for dessert,  it was delicious. And I am really glad I brought the light weight jackets ( one black and one olive) with me, most of the time when I was inside I was cold. Even Bo got cold in our suite and unlike hotel rooms where you can adjust the temperature apparently you can't on Carnival Cruises. At least we couldn't figure out how to.(I went back and added Carnival Cruises because a friend that cruised on a different line said there was a thermostat in their room).

And I got some great pictures to hang in our entry way.

Cruising to Cozumel

August 29th we left the Port of Mobile for Cozumel.  Bo and I got to stand on our own private balcony to watch us sail away. I LOVED having a suite with a balcony.  We actually got to board early so I managed to get a swim in before it got to crowded and the music got to loud. We mainly hung out on our balcony or in our room just chilling. We did visit Serenity but it isn't very nice on this ship. Just some deck chairs and a hot tub and a little bit quieter than the main pool area but it's next to the kids sea camp.

I also did the spa tour later that day, but didn't win any prizes.  So this is pretty much Thursday.

L short for Elfreda left the most charming animals on the bed. Friday was an Elephant. L took excellent care of us and I really enjoyed getting to know her.

And Friday was a lovely Sea Day sunny and just beautiful. Bo and I drank our coffee on the balcony and watched the sunrise. And one of the other pluses of getting up early was I had the pool to myself for a lovely 30 minute swim. Sorry I missed getting a photo of the sunrise. I didn't think about grabbing the phone until after I was already sitting down with my coffee and I didn't want to bother getting up. Bo has some more pictures so it's possible he captured it.

I explored the ship some, this is Cleopatra's Bar, and attended a Shopping in Cozumel Seminar (I left early for the next event) the  Ladies Pamper Party. There weren't very many activities I was interested in, and the few there were in the day time were usually scheduled at the same time or very close together. And a lot of the evening activities we would have been interested in attending were way past our bed time. This was Elegant Evening so we dressed up to eat in the Jubilee Dining Room (don't worry you will get to see some very good pictures of this)  And that was pretty much our Friday other than sitting out on our balcony reading and chilling out. My favorite thing Friday was our picture session. But I also enjoyed the Comedian we went to see he was really funny @ the PG version of his act, I wish we could have caught the R rated act he did later that night.

I took tons of pictures in Cozumel so that will be a separate post.  From your only slightly sunburned  ~Alasandra

Desire Never Changes by Penny Jordan

Desire Never ChangesDesire Never Changes by Penny Jordan
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I actually enjoyed this a rich heiress discovers that not only is her fiancee cheating on her he was only interested in her due to her Father's money, so she seduces a hot photographer who is hurt when he thinks she only wants him for the pictures of her he can take. When he finds out the truth she has already left the hotel and the witch (the woman the fiance was cheating with) behind the reception desk claims she doesn't know her name or how to reach her.

Years later when he sees her picture in the paper when her Father is named Ambassador he blackmails her into marrying him and after many misunderstandings they discover they are "in love" with each other. Did I mention the photographer is filthy rich.

A Dangerous Man (Elvis Cole #18; Joe Pike #7)

A Dangerous Man (Elvis Cole #18; Joe Pike #7)A Dangerous Man by Robert Crais
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

When the teller at Pike's bank is kidnapped in front of him he intervenes. Unfortunately Izzy has no idea what the kidnappers were talking about when they insist they want their money back.

Thanks to Elvis, they discover that Izzy's parents were in witness protection and that her Mother stole a lot of money from some very bad men, one of whom is still alive and still free and determined to get his money back at all cost and leave no witnesses.

Entreway, Easter and Study

I wanted to create a real entryway feel in front of the front door and not just a blah hall We got a new light fixture which improved the looks immensely and tall people no longer have to worry about bumping their head. And then I found this cute little shelf on Wayfair, when I saw the butterfly tile I knew I had to have it. It's perfect for hanging my keys and outside hats.

We started work on the study around Easter I loved the Glass Slipper so much in the Laundry Room/Pantry that I repeated it in the Study.

Easter I tried my hand at decoupaging Easter Eggs, they actually didn't turn out well at all. I need to cut the paper into smaller strips. I may try again in a few years when Olivia and Grant are older and can help.

I found this cute sugar and creamer combo.

I dressed up the Alawine Family Holiday Pie.

And drug out Mr. Bunny for the table.
