The majority of Kara's family was massacred on Christmas Day twenty years ago? Her half brother Jonas has just been released from prison on a technicality and Kara is getting mysterious text stating her half sister Marlie is alive. To top it off Tate (the reporter whose Father died saving her from the lake) won't take No for an answer and when push comes to shove his arms is where Kara winds up taking shelter from the chaos and murders surrounding Jonas' release. Who really killed Kara's family.
Was it Marlie who planned to run away with her boyfriend and who disappeared shortly after hiding Kara in the attic?
Was it her Aunt Fai who bleed the estate dry?
Was it Marlie's Father
or was it really Jonas?
All these questions and so many more arise as you read the book.
