(1978)Vi and Eric are being raised by their Grandmother (Dr Helen Hildreth) on the grounds of an estate that houses the mentally ill. When Helen brings a young girl Iris home, Vi is determined to help Iris find out who she really is as Iris has no memories of her past.

Going behind her Grandmother's back Vi breaks into her Grandmother's office and discovers her fascination with eugenics and references to a mysterious Patient S, assuming Iris is Patient S Vi is determined to find out more about what was done to her and who she is.

(2019) Lizzy Shelly host "Monsters Among Us" and is determined to find out if her sister is the monster behind the disappearance of several young girls.

This book has several twist and I actually thought we were going to get a happy ending for a few pages at the end, before yet another plot twist uncovered the monsters dark secret.
