The Prince of Tides by Pat ConroyMy rating: 2 of 5 stars
I found it slow going and extremely sad. When his sister Savannah tries to commit suicide Tom Wingo travels to New York to support her. Leaving his wife and daughters behind in South Carolina. He soon becomes involved with Savannah's psychiatrist Lowenstein and recounts the story of his and Savannah's abusive childhood, their rape at the hands of escaped convicts and the tragic death of their older brother Luke.
