When Daphne Strazza stumbles in front of Roarke's car one dark winter night Eve become embroiled in a case where the line between victim and killer is blurred. She soon stumbles on similar cases where couples are attacked in their homes and the wife is repeatedly raped while her husband watches, but the Strazza's are the first time the assailant kills. Slowly Eve comes to see the face behind the devil that attacked Daphne and as always Eve will seek justice.
