Other then having a chance to catch up with Jack Ryan The Hunt for Red October and John Clark Without Remorse and find out what is going on with their family and friends it lacked the magic of the earlier books that were actually written by Tom Clancy
A Chinese sub goes missing, The Chinese, Americans and Russians are all looking for one woman who can recreate the Mirage Drive. John Clark goes to rescue her daughter and the rest of the team attempt to track the woman down but there is a mole at the CIA and the information leaked will cost lives and put the team and their mission in grave danger.
One of the things I liked about the earlier books was the character development which is sadly lacking in this book. While it's action packed, the pace barely gives you time to learn about the characters.
