Kingdom of Ash (Throne of Glass, #7)

Kingdom of Ash (Throne of Glass, #7)Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J. Maas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I am so sad this series is over I loved the characters in the book and would have liked to have read more of their adventures rebuilding their country.

I think the big surprise was what a huge role Yrene played in ending Erawan.

I'm still sad Maas killed Gavriel and the Thirteen off.

I was annoyed with Aelin for attempting to trade Erawan's soul for Elena. So many lives could have been saved if the "Gods" had taken Erawan with them as promised. Instead, they killed Elena as they planned and refused to take Erawan. However, Mala did restore a small measure of Aellin's power.

Sabotage (Shadows of Fire, #1)Sabotage by Sherrilyn Kenyon
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Not sure why this isn't in the Chronicles of Nick. It was very confusing and hard to find.

Laguerre is Cyprian's Mother. Artemis brings Kody back to life and she restores Nick's memories.

Nick with the help of his friends rescues Styxx and Ash from Cyprian. Ash seems to be over his not interfering with fate thing and is willing to bring people back to life.

Empire of Storms (Throne of Glass, #5)

Empire of Storms (Throne of Glass, #5)Empire of Storms by Sarah J. Maas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Everything is coming together
Abraxas is the hero in my opinion cause when they sent him away he went and found The Thirteen which arrived in time to help them win against Maeve. He also took Manon to Aelin when she told him to find somewhere safe for her to recuperate after she was so badly injured by her Grandmother. We have also discovered that Manon as well as the Ironteeth former heir is the last Crochan Queen her Father was a Crochan and her Grandmother killed her Mother and Father. The Thirteen agree to follow Mannon and they throw their lot in with Aelin.

Everyone is rather mad at Lorcan at the moment but he summoned Maeve to save Elide when he thought they were losing against Earwen, even though he knew Maeve had placed a kill order on his head. He didn't foresee the consequences and deeply regrets his summoning. Lorcan took Elide to Aelin and allowed her to give Aelin the key she carried. He has also placed Maeve's ring that gives protection against the Valg on Elid's finger. Maeve freed him so he is now with an ally of Aelin's. Aelin gave Manon both keys before Maeve captured her so the keys are now safe with Dorian.

Gavriel (Aedion's Father) and Fenrys were sent to kill Lorcan but found a way around it and joined forces with Aelin and Rowan. As punishment, Maeve freed Gavriel from his blood oath with dishonor. But she forced Fenrys to return with her.

Aelin is the lock and her life is the price for sending Earwen back. Aelin made plans for Lysandra to assume her identity.

Rowan's cousins turned against Maeve and joined them at Rowan's request. Galan Ashryver Crown Prince of Wendlyn came to help Aelin. The Silent Assassins of the Red Desert (Ilias) came at Aelin's request as well as Ansel.

Chaol is coming with an army as well as the knowledge that Maeve is a Valg.

And Rowan is determined to find his wife and free her from the iron coffin Maeve put her in.

Abandoned in Death (In Death, #54)

Abandoned in Death (In Death, #54)Abandoned in Death by J.D. Robb
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I still enjoy them but they are getting rather formulaic. Someone gets dead as Eve would say and Eve finds the killer the twist this time is the killer is right under her nose at the precinct.

Tower of Dawn (Throne of Glass, #6)

Tower of Dawn (Throne of Glass, #6)Tower of Dawn by Sarah J. Maas
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Years ago Aelin saved a barmaid from a group of mercenaries she taught her how to defend herself and gave her some gold to cross the sea to Torre. Now that kindness is being repaid a thousandfold. Not only did Yrene heal Chaol, but she is coming to Aelin's aid with three hundred healers who know the secret to defeating the Valg. Yrene also got the khagan to help after she saved his most beloved daughter who had been infected by the Valg. And when Yrene gives Chaol the note to read "for wherever you need to go -and then some. The world needs more healers" he realizes that Aelin is the woman who helped Yrene all those years ago. Chaol and Yrene are also married.

Big reveal, Maeve is a Valg Queen (didn't see that coming).

Nesryn is now with Prince Sartaq heir to the throne. They had quite an adventure with the spiders. And meet Lysandra's Uncle Falkan. In his shapeshifter form, he saved their lives first as a wolf and then disguised as a spider. Aelin has also met Falkan previously.

The Ghost Orchid (Alex Delaware, #39)

The Ghost Orchid (Alex Delaware, #39)The Ghost Orchid by Jonathan Kellerman
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Sad book, Alex is still recovering from his injuries sustained in the last book, but Robin persuades Milo to ask Alex to tag along on his new case. At first it doesn't appear to be anything special as Milo suspects it's a case of a jealous husband offing his cheating wife and her much younger boy toy. But as he digs into Meagin March's past things get interesting Meagin (an anagram for enigma) isn't her real name and before she married her millionaire husband she was a pro. When another man is found murdered by the same gun Milo links the murders after finding Meagin was in contact with him. But only when the maid comes forward with a box entrusted to her by Meagin does Milo put the pieces together. Abused by her Father, Meagin went to the authorities out on bail her Father killed himself and her Mother. Her two younger brothers and her were separated and grew up in foster care. Unfortunately, the youngest brother blamed the two older siblings for their parent's death and came to town to exact revenge.

On the professional side Alex is dealing with an adopted boy who is being abandoned by his parents after their divorce.
