When Detective Harry Blue's brother is arrested as a serial killer her boss sends her to the Outback to get her away from the publicity. There she is confronted with a killer who is hunting down the miners in a deadly recreation of a video game. Believing her partner Edward Whittaker is a plant to get info on her brother she is slow to trust him, but she is all to eager to turn to the one man in camp she shouldn't trust.

I imagine this will be either a sequel or a new series as the book ends at the opening of her brothers trial, with his proclaiming his innocence to Harry.

Told from Margaret's point of view mainly through letters as Margaret was in Scotland while Katherine and Mary were in England for most of the book. We learn how Margaret was married to King James of Scotland as a teenage and had to cope with his bastards as well as a strange country. How Katherine's instructions to her army to take no prisoners at Flodden Field left Margaret a widow. How her youth and inexperience led the young widow to marry Archibald Douglass. How Margaret resented Katherine and Harry's easy acceptance of Mary's marriage to Charles Brandon after the King of France's death while berating her for marrying Archibald without permission.

When Archibald proved false and kept King James (Margaret's son) a virtual prisoner Katherine's deteriorating marriage led her to insist that no marriage could be set aside for any reason. How Harry choose to support Archibald over his sister and her son. And how Margaret's divorce from Archibald (even though he treated her horribly) was deplored by Harry while at the same time he was making plans to annul his marriage to Katherine and declare his daughter Mary a bastard.

How Harry allowed the commoner Anne to take precedence over his own sister Mary. How Harry declared the Pope was wrong to say he had to live with Katherine and that he Harry was Head of the Church of England. And how Harry encouraged James to follow his example. James who was very devout backed the Pope. The book ends with Mary's death as Harry was keeping Katherine a prisoner and she couldn't write letters or receive them.

Amusing account of 3 guys trip down the Pascagoula River.

I am hoping to have the chance to paddle some of the River myself and just hope George County doesn't destroy it with a dam to create Lake George, before I have the opportunity.

Fast paced if at times implausible.

Retired SAS Matt Bates is meeting his friend Chaz at the airport when they prevent a sword wielding jihadist from killing a Saudi Prince. Moments later they watch in horror as the Prince's head of security guns him down. But things get even more out of hand when a jihadist group takes travelers prisoner at the check in hall of Terminal three they have a chemical bomb set to go off in 31 minutes and no demands ( OK this is just stupid, if they don't have any demands why set the bomb to go off in 31 minutes, so Matt and Chaz have time to stop it. Why not just blow the place up? Why take hostages at all, why not just blow the place up with no warning?)

Matt and Chaz escape from the jihadist, make contact with the officials in charge outside, concoct a scheme to disarm the chemical bomb and succeed by the skin of their teeth.

Jack Reacher has just completed one "secret mission" successfully when he gets sent to "School" as a cover for a secret mission in Germany. Something has gone missing and someone is selling it to the Jihadist for a hundred million dollars. Reacher has to find out what is missing? (Davy Crocketts aka SADM) and who is selling them? an AWOL soldier. And if there is one thing you can bank on if Reacher is in the same town as an AWOL soldier he will find him.

But Reacher isn't the only one searching for the soldier, German Neo-Nazis are looking for him too and they plan to take the "payday" for themselves even though they don't have a clue what the soldier stole just that it is worth a hundred million dollars to the Jihadist. Reacher finds the soldier to late, but he ruthlessly tracks down the Neo-Nazis and reclaims the U.S. property.
