Prodigal SummerProdigal Summer by Barbara Kingsolver
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Three stories beautifully intertwined and the relationships that draw them together and apart.

(Moth Love) Lusa is learning about the family she married into after her (Cole) husband's death. The cancer that is destroying her sister-in-law will bring her the unexpected gift of children (Chrystal and Lowell) and a way to keep the Farm in the Wildner Family.

(Predators) Deanna Wolfe's romance with a hunter (Eddie) that seeks her out in her isolated mountain cabin will plant a seed that Deanna thought was long past bearing fruit and have her leaving her mountain cabin to find a future with the woman who helped raise her (Nannie). Giving both a second chance at a family.

(Chestnuts) Nannie and Garnett will find comfort in each other's arms. And Garnett will find a way to welcome his grandchildren (Chrystal and Lowell) into his life.

I will rise again, through rain and floods and wind Knock me down and I’ll stand upOh I will rise again.Om Namah ShivayaI will see again, through the darkness where I’ve been. The clouds will pass, the sun will shineAnd I will see againOm Namah ShivayaI will love again, broken as I am. Life’s too short to close my heart Oh I will love again.Om Namah Shivaya Hey Nataraja

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I was lucky enough to meet the author at a book signing. Full of facts this book is easy to read although heartbreaking in places. It will definitely give you a greater appreciation for the brown pelican and all it has endured.

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Parts of the book were interesting other parts were really boring and most of it seems to be his opinion with no documentation to back it up. He did have several practical suggestions on how you could use the "Celtic Wisdom" in your everyday life.

When a photographer winds up dead Milo has too many suspects. Was it one of the Wishers (Homeless people Donny Klement invited into his home to photograph) or one of his half-siblings wanting a bigger slice of the pie?

When some of the Wishers start showing up in the morgue Milo leans toward it being connected to his photography of the Homeless, but a surprising tie to his millionaire Father leads Milo straight to the killer. Unfortunately, the killer finds Alex first.

Several of the books have mentioned how Alex saved Sean Binchy's life The Wedding Guest in this book Sean gets to return the favor.
