Dining with Dad

Dad and I have been dining out. Today we ate somewhere I had never been and that had delicious food and large portions reasonably priced. Bozo's Too in Pascagoula. Dad got the fish basket.

I got the Cajun Burger. We both enjoyed our meal. The restaurant itself is noisy, but if you aren't planning on a gossip session it's well worth visiting. ~Alasandra

Wish You Were Here

Wish You Were HereWish You Were Here by Jodi Picoult
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Well we spend the first half of this book in the Galapagos with Diana only to discover it was a hallucination she had while she was in the hospital with Covid. Then stuck in her memories of the Galapagos she throws her relationship with Finn away.

All in all I found this book very disappointing and not at all like her usual books.

I Love Mopping with Rosie

I am still loving the N8Pro (previous review here). I used the reusable mopping pad. It's really easy to put on and Rosie automatically goes into mopping mode when the mopping pad is on. She did a great job on the floors. Probably the first time my entire house has been mopped at one time and bonus while Rosie was busy mopping I started cooking super after she finished the kitchen. I was pleasantly surprised to discover the tank held enough water to mop the entire house. The tank appeared really small to me, but it did indeed hold enough to mop my home.  The hardest part is getting the mopping pad off when you are finished you sort of have to slide it to the side and up And this really surprised me Rosie does indeed vacuum while she mops but there wasn't a drop of moisture in the dust bin or on the filters. I really love Rosie and think she has done a great job.

Pros

  • Easy to use
  • Great suction picks up well
  • Easy to empty the dust bin without making a mess
  • Easy to put the reusable mopping pad on
  • Easy to fill the water tank
  • Communicates well

Cons

  • Hard to get the mopping pad off. I had to watch a video to learn how to do it. (Now that I have done it I don't think it will be a problem. It's just sort of hard to figure out on your own)

The Last Trial (Kindle County #11)

The Last Trial (Kindle County #11)The Last Trial by Scott Turow
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

It's rather tortuous and slow moving for a thriller. Sandy Stern is representing an old friend in a fraud case and is reflecting and examining his own life and career as this will be his last trial before he retires.

Deebot N8 Pro

 Wednesday Morning, January 12th

For Christmas my Deebot N79 (which I still love) got upgraded to the Deepot N8 Pro it arrived yesterday and was easy to set up, as far as vacuuming goes. I haven't tried the mopping feature out yet. One small glitch  my original account for the N79 used the Cableone email which Cableone/Sparklight stopped supporting, unfortunately it was one of the accounts I forgot to update so I have emailed customer service to ask for help changing the email and password as I don't remember my password and without access to the Cableone account can't change it.

The N8 Pro which I have named Rosie is a little bit louder then the N79. I think this is due to increased suction power and can be adjusted so for me it's not a problem, the cats and dogs adjusted to it quickly, I think the thing that most freaked them out is it TALKS. Which I like, I no longer have to wonder why the Deebot is beeping she tells me. Rosie started cleaning on time this morning (I set up a schedule yesterday) and so far hasn't run into any problems. She completed cleaning and went back to the charging station. Slight problem there as apparently when she started cleaning she moved the charging station and it was at an angle. I put it back the way it belonged and she went straight to it. This is mostly my fault. Having an older house the only place I have to plug the robot in, is in the living room so I have her hidden behind a  coffee table. I really envy the plug in's in closets and laundry rooms you find in newer homes. The only plug in, my laundry room has is for the washer and dryer, so nowhere to plug a robotic vacuum in there.

So far my only real complaint is that I had to create a new account because I no longer had access to the Cableone email, and I lost all my saved data and had to set up from scratch but that was a minor annoyance. It picked up a lot of dirt. It's much easier to empty than the N79 without making a mess and it had no problem navigating the house. It was also able to vacuum the entire house without recharging and it recharges really fast. I'll report next week after I have used the mopping feature. ~Alasandra

The Color of Dragons by R.A. Salvatore, Erika Lewis (Goodreads Author)

The Color of DragonsThe Color of Dragons by R.A. Salvatore
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Delightful, told from the point of view of Maggie (Hinterlands) and Griffin (City) we learn what life was like under King Umbert's rule. Maggie is forced to come to the city when Prince Jori discovers her "fathers" magic act. Griffin believes Prince Jori to be his friend and is the King's Champion. But soon Griffin discovers that things are not as they seem. Smitten by Maggie he helps her visit her dragon Rendicryss and eventually sees the dragon as Maggie does. With Rendicryss' help Maggie and Griffin will end the bloodshed and take down the wall that has kept the people of the city imprisoned too long.

It's marked Young Adult but I think it's suitable for Middle School.
