Upside Down Tomatoes

Hubby built a place to hang our tomatoes. I helped make sure the post were square.

We used  metal buckets in hopes that we would be able to reuse them next year. We used coconut liners to help hold the plants and dirt in.

The Mockingbird has been eating our strawberries. The cats finally got the idea this was a good place to hang out.

Watermelon, Honeydew and Cantaloupe.

Pretty much everything in the garden has been washed out, but we have butterbeans, peas, broccoli, carrots, turnips & corn in there. We also have a bed with muskedimes in it.

  1. I can't wait to see how your tomatoes do:) I have given up on planting any kind of berries, I would never see a one!! Between the birds, chipmunks, squirrels. Oh and my resident ground hog .... As it is, everything I do plant( tomatoes, lettuce ect.) has to be in pots on the deck by the house where the security lights are.... I forgot to mention the racoons! ...haha Good luck with your veggie garden! :)

  2. Your hangin tomatoes are cool. TBT was gonna build something just like that this year, but stayed with the cages. But we grow one hangin cherry tomato.

He been usin a big plastic planter for about 5 years now, and it is still sturdy.

We love the big sunny area ya got, too. We have too much shade.

By the way, ya can drape bird netting on a PVC frame to protect the strawberries. We think the bees can get through that. Or just leave it open in midday.
